Often decried as “McMindfulness”, the modern “movement” of being more considerate as a person without needing all that complex religious stuff, gained influence from intellectual™ people in psychology who liked Jon Kabat-Zinn’s “karmic reassignment”, the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the “Center for Mindfulness” at Massachusetts Medical School, which was founded in 1979.
